Current Newspapers with Web Sites
Each paper has different dates of coverage. You may have to pay or use Interlibrary Loan to obtain articles. Use GIL to see if CSU owns back issues of the paper before requesting articles through interlibrary loan.
Columbus Ledger-Enquirer
Columbus, Georgia newspaper. Articles available online for 7 days, after which time they are moved the archives. You may search the archives for free, but there is a charge to view articles from the archives. CSU has a current subscription to the Ledger-Enquirer and has back issues available on microfilm.

Columbus, Georgia newspaper focusing on minority issues. Current articles are available online. CSU has a current subscription and has back issues available in paper and microfilm.

Microfilm Newspapers Available in the CSU Library
Note: We are constantly adding new microfilm reels to replace the paper copy. The latest microfilm for most newspapers is usually one to four months before the present date. The newest New York Times microfilm tends to be around a month old. Also, some very old print Columbus papers are located in Archives.

Alabama Department of Archives and History
Two searchable databases of newspapers held by the ADAH. Hardbound Newspapers includes newspapers owned in print by the ADAH. Note that it is not always possible to get photocopies from these bound volumes. Newspapers on Microfilm includes newspapers that are available on microfilm. You may request to borrow the microfilm via interlibrary loan. Copies of some reels may be purchased for $30/reel.
