Online book renewal instructions
Library patrons may renew their books online using the GIL catalog. To renew books checked out from CSU follow the instructions below.
PLEASE NOTE: This service does not include books checked out through Interlibrary Loan. You must renew interlibrary loan books by calling 706-568-2451 between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday through Friday.
To renew books from CSU:
- Go to the GIL online catalog
- Click on "Renew books online" at the bottom of the first box.
- You will be asked for your barcode and last name. Barcodes are the prefix 201 followed by your CSU ID number.
- After you login you will see a screen with your personal information. The second section (under your name and address) contains a list what books you currently have checked out.
- Click on the box in front of the title in the column labeled "Renew?" A check will appear in the box. Do this for each book that you want to renew.
- After you have selected all the books you want to renew, click on the "Renew Items" button that is right under the list of books. The screen will refresh itself.
- Check the list of books again. This time look at the column labelled "Renewal Status" on the right. It should have "Renewed: Due XX-XX-XX" where the XX's are the new due date, e.g. "Renewed: Due 08-05-01"
- Important: When you have confirmed that all books desired have been renewed, click on "Exit" at the top of the screen to logoff. If you are using a public workstation you should also close the browser window. This is to preserve your privacy.
If you experience any difficulty renewing books online, you may contact the library at 706-562-1494 to renew books over the phone. Please have the books you wish to renew available when you call.
