Locating Books from Google Scholar References
All too often Google Scholar, http://scholar.google.com, yields book references without giving adequate library information or with more library information than you need. Fortunately, you can obtain many books listed on Google Scholar either here in this library or for free through GIL Express.
- A book reference on Google Scholar says [book] in small print to the left of the title and has a link to Library Search beneath it.
- Click on Library Search. Google Scholar supplies a chart that looks like this.

- If you see Columbus State University listed as it is here, click on it and you can search GIL https://gil.colstate.edu to find your book. Use Exact Search and click the circle next to Title.

- Books listed by GIL may be not checked out, checked out (unavailable), or in electronic form at NetLibrary
.
- If the book you want is NOT at Columbus State University, then try searching for it via GIL Express, the University System of Georgia's book catalog, https://giluc.usg.edu/. GIL Express requests take a few days for delivery, so please start your research early.
- Google's library list also gives you a cardlike entry at the top that is sometimes very helpful.

- If you want more books like the one above, just click on the blue subject headings. In this case, Cats -- Folklore yields more books similar to Nine Lives: the Folklore of Cats.
